Cllr Richard Levell, Mayor of Raunds celebrated Burns Night in style on Saturday 26th January at Jester’s Bistro Raunds.

Joined by the Mayoress, Mrs Magdalena Levell, the Mayor welcomed local residents, visiting Mayors and other guests. The guests enjoyed a Burns Night Supper and the customary traditions, while raising funds for the Stroke Association, which is the Mayor’s chosen Charity for 2018-19.

Cllr Levell said, “My thanks to all those who attended and helped to raise over £700 for the Stroke Association. It was a great evening enjoyed by all. Particular thanks must go to Jester’s Bistro for hosting the event and providing us with a splendid haggis supper”.

As well as raising funds for the Stroke Association, over £150 was raised to assist students from Manor School who are going on a school trip to Ecuador, where they will volunteer to help improve the lives of local people as well as develop life-changing personal skills.
