Higham Mayor’s Market and Crowning of the May Queen

“Thank you to all who attended the Annual Mayor’s Market on Saturday. It was quite fresh so coats were definitely needed but it was great to see so many people turn out to support this community event. The Mayor was raising funds for his chosen charity, the Warwickshire & Northamptonshire Air Ambulance and is very pleased to announce that he raised £350 on the day.

This event also gives many local charities and groups a great opportunity to raise awareness and funds for their various causes. This event could not happen without the support of these local groups, Higham Ferrers Tourism and local schools. This year we had choirs from Higham Ferrers Nursery and Infant School, Henry Chichele Primary School, the U3A and the Chichele Choir. They all did a wonderful job and really made a lovely atmosphere for this event.

The May Queen, Sophia, her Princesses, Gabriella and Amelia and Prince Benjamin were fantastic. They did a great job doing a royal tour of the market following the crowning ceremony and we look forward to seeing them again at future events throughout the year.”
