Refurbished Swansgate Multi-Storey Car Park Entered for Prestigious Award | Borough Council of Wellingborough
The Borough Council of Wellingborough is pleased to announce that the town’s multi-storey car park is being considered for the ‘Outstanding Car Park Award’ at the British Parking Awards 2021.
The annual competition was launched by Parking Review magazine in 2002 to recognise and celebrate best practice, innovation and achievement in the design and management of both public and private sector parking. The awards ceremony will take place on 17 September 2021.
The Swansgate Multi-Storey Car Park project team includes:
- Morgan Sindall Construction – Principal Contractor
- Cemplas Waterproofing & Concrete Repairs Ltd – Specialist Contractor Partner
- The Borough Council of Wellingborough – Asset owners
- CPMG – Architect
The primary objective of the refurbishment of the car park was to address the progressively worsening concrete degradation issues and to bring the car park up to the Park Mark® standard.
The Park Mark® Safer Parking Scheme is a Police Crime Prevention Initiative (Police-CPI) and is aimed at reducing both crime and the fear of crime in parking facilities. Safer Parking status, Park Mark®, is awarded to parking facilities that have met the requirements of a risk assessment conducted by the police, which will be undertaken during April 2021.
