- Latest Statement by Stanwick Lakes 23/04:
In the early hours of this morning (Saturday 10th April), devastating fire has destroyed a significant part of the popular adventure playground at Stanwick Lakes, Northamptonshire.
Stanwick Lakes is a unique 750 acre countryside attraction and nature reserve located in the heart of Northamptonshire’s Nene Valley.
Raunds Fire Station posted the following images and have asked for anyone with information to come forward.
The below photo was taken by a nearby resident showing the fire at 01:35am with Blue Lights in attendance. Firefighters were called to the scene at approx. 01:16am.
Rockingham Forest Trust is an independent charity which receives only a small proportion of its income from local grants. The rest comes from trading through the social enterprise at Stanwick Lakes, and from fundraising campaigns. Donations are a vital source of funds.

Multiple JustGiving pages have already been started by members of the community, with one unofficial page already having over 900 donations with more than £17,000 raised within just a week. The money is hoped to be used to recreate the play area and install some CCTV to deter such future events from happening again.

The adventure playground was originally rebuilt four years ago and had only recently been refurbished by Timotay Playscapes, a Northamptonshire-based outdoor play space provider, who worked in partnership with Stanwick Lakes on a number of projects to refurbish and further develop exciting and engaging imaginative play zones within the site
