Police officers are appealing for witnesses after two teenage girls were approached by a male as they walked on the old railway walk in Rushden.
The incident took place between 5.30pm and 6.10pm on Wednesday, April 7, when a male, sitting on a bench, shouted at the 14-year-old girls to get their attention, however they ignored him.
The girls have become concerned about the male’s behaviour and ran away in the direction of Washbrook Road, however the male chased after the girls but stopped when a cyclist appeared in the distance.
The male has then changed direction and ran towards Paddocks Road, and officers would like to hear from anyone who may have been approached on the old railway walk in similar circumstances.
The male was possibly of Asian descent and in his mid to late teens. He was wearing a black beanie hat, black face mask and a grey/black/white urban print camo tracksuit.
Officers would like to speak to anyone who may have seen a male fitting the above description acting suspiciously in the area of the old railway walk or who may have seen him running in the Paddocks Road area.
Witnesses or anyone with information which could assist the investigation are asked to call Northamptonshire Police on 101 quoting reference number 21000191125. Or alternatively, call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
