Detectives investigating the attempted murder and rape of a woman in Wellingborough have released a CCTV image of a man they believe was present in Great Park Street, Wellingborough, at around 6am, at the time the suspect was also in the area.

In the early hours of Sunday, February 6, a woman was found with head injuries in the Great Park Street area. She was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

The man in the image could have vital information that could assist this investigation and him, or anyone who may recognise him, is asked to call Northamptonshire Police on 101.

A 38-year-old man has been charged in connection with this incident and has been remanded into custody pending his next court appearance on March 21, 2022.
